Alliance members branching out with new ventures - 8/10/2009
Several Alliance members are testing new waters: • Boulder County Business Report recently launched a display classified section and is interested in receiving any sales and marketing ideas. • Central Penn Business Journal has started a recognition program for students from across the state. Student Excellence Awards are affiliated with its Next Magazine. Twenty-five female 11th graders and 25 male 11th graders are honored for involvement in non-academic school and community activities. • Crain’s Cleveland Business now promotes its media kit being posted online in e-mail signature lines. • Florida Trend celebrated 50 years in 2008, with special coverage in each month’s magazine and a big issue in September. Click here for an aggregate of anniversary campaigns for AABP members. • OKC Business has changed from a bi-weekly newspaper to OKC Biz, a monthly magazine. There are many new features and new ad rates that now include full color. A circulation drive was held, as well as new events planned. Other additions include a new logo, format, website and an online version of the magazine format in flip-through and online presentations. • Worcester Business Journal made some changes to its Book of Lists 2009 (Vol. 20, No. 15) in July. Additions include silhouettes of recognizable buildings at section heads and new lists. The 96-page Vol. 20, No. 15 costs $25 and is available in PDF and Excel. • Check out these cutting-edge Web-based sites for instant messenger, paint studio, TV shows, photoshop, movie editor, Word/Excel/Powerpoint and e-mail.
